This is an interview with Professor Sir Peter Gluckman, the chief science advisor to New Zealand’s Prime Minister. It was played on Radio New Zealand in 2011. It’s a stellar interview on a number of levels and is well worth the whole listen. It moves through his own personal inspirations - people, books etc - his personal interests and career, and also through topics like Israel (because of his Jewish roots), the place of science, evolution/creationism, Dawkins, climate change, funding for research and development, the need to value knowledge and many other things. It’s a good Sunday listen while enjoying a coffee.
